JCC Western Switzerland is launched

JCC has always had a good number of members from the cantons of Western Switzerland and Ticino, and demand continues to grow. In light of this development, the best way JCC can serve its members and achieve its business goals is to establish official representations in Geneva and Lugano, respectively.

JCC Western Switzerland was launched virtually with a webinar on February 10, 2021 at 13:00. The guest speaker Stefan Flückiger, Deputy State Secretary, State Secretariat for International Finance (SIF) made a presentation on the topic of “Switzerland-Eurasia: 20201 Negotiations on Banking, Finance, Customs & Tax Regulations”.

The webinar moderated by Dorit Sallis, Managing Director, JCC began with welcome statements from Marcel Pawlicek, JCC President and CEO, Burckhardt Compression and Jean-Paul Periat, JCC Board Member, Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan and Head, JCC Western Switzerland.

Going forward, Jean-Paul Periat will be supported by Xavier Cornut, Senior Advisor, Cabinet Privé de Conseils SA and Vincent Subilia, General Director, Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG). JCC Ticino will be led by Filippo Lombardi, CEO and Senior Advisor, Swissconsult International AG supported by long-time JCC board member Luca Moretti, Partner, SMC Trust. As per the JCC Bylaws, Mssrs. Cornut, Lombardi, Periat and Subilia will be proposed for election as board members at the 2021 Annual General Meeting.

The launch webinar will be followed by an in-person event to celebrate the inauguration of JCC Western Switzerland when conditions permit. JCC looks forward to this exciting new chapter.
