JCC Participates in Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin’s 8th Export Roundtable
On May 11, 2023, Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin exchanged views with representatives of the export industry about a growing tendency to strengthen states’ industrial policy and its impact on Switzerland. The JCC was represented by Dorit Sallis, Managing Director at the meeting. She highlighted the uptick in interest to do business in the markets of Central Asia, especially, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and the South Caucasus. She also emphasized the development of the Middle Corridor as an important transit route from China to the EU via the Caspian Region. Development of this routes logistical capacities will offer new business opportunities for Swiss companies in the area of infrastructure, mobility and trade. D. Sallis observed that the state has a role to play in ensuring favorable frame conditions for Swiss companies to be competitive in these markets.
