JCC hosts Ambassador of Uzbekistan

The Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South Caucasus (JCC) welcomed H.E. Mr. Dilshod Akhatov, Ambassador fo the Republic of Uzbekistan to Switzerland and Erwin Turgunov, Counselor on Trade and Economic Issues, Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Switzerland and Germany at its Zurich office on June 3, 2024.

Ambassador Akhatov met with representatives of the Swiss government and private sector, including Thomas Anwander, JCC Board Member and Head of the JCC Uzbekistan Chapter, Jochen Janssen, Advisor for Uzbekistan, SECO Economic Cooperation and Development , Peter Flueckiger, Director, Swiss Textiles, Michael Kuehn, Senior Consultant, Central Asia, Switzerland Global Enterprise and Alexander Silin, Regional Director – Growth, CEE/CIS, Hitachi Zosen Inova and Dorit Sallis, Director, JCC.

The topic of strengthening investment and know-how transfer in renewable energy, textiles, autmotive, electrical manufacturing and automotive sectors was a key topic of discussion. In education, cooperation in the area of vocational education and training (VET) where Switzerland is a global leader was also considered as an important avenue to explore.
