JCC’s 2023 AGM showcases challenges, successes and plans
JCC’s Annual General Meeting took place on May 8, 2023. This year’s General Assembly took place as a hybrid event with the board gathering at JCC Western Switzerland’s Geneva office. Other members attended virtually. JCC President Marcel Pawlicek gave a concise overview of 2022 – a year that saw dual challenges of the war in Ukraine and multiple sanctions packages on business in Russia. He noted an uptick in business interest in the countries of Central Asia and the South Caucasus in the areas of logistics/transportation, renewable energy, manufacturing and infrastructure.
The chamber bid a fond farewell to Daniel Schmid who was a board member and JCC treasurer for 8 years. The assembly welcomed Wojciech Nowak, Group Senior Director, Global Governmental and Public Affairs, Novartis International, Switzerland as the new Novartis representative and Brigitte Chassot who replaces Tony Moré as the SECO ex officio board member.
JCC looks back over an active and financially successful 2022. A similarly intense 2023 program of business events and missions is already in full swing.
The 2024 AGM will be held on March 19 (afternoon) at Novartis Basel.
