SWISSMEM Industry Day 2026, Basel

The 19th Swissmem Industry Day in Basel fully lived up to its high expectations: distinguished guests, around 1,300 participants, and a diverse, highly relevant programme featuring a variety of formats—from keynote speeches and panel discussions to the Oxford Debate.

The event provided numerous insights for the Swiss tech industry and once again demonstrated the immense value of personal exchange and dialogue within our sector.

One message came across clearly throughout the discussions: if the Swiss tech industry wants to remain relevant and competitive in today’s challenging environment — characterised by high costs, sudden tariff increases, growing protectionism, and intensifying global competition — it must continue to deliver outstanding and indispensable products and services, respond quickly to market changes, and invest even more in innovation.

Diversification through the development of new markets is equally essential. As special guest Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin highlighted, Switzerland has therefore been actively pursuing new bilateral trade agreements, including those with India and Indonesia.

When it comes to exploring new opportunities, JCC is well positioned to support companies looking to expand into Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and Eastern Europe. This is why JCC took part in this amazing event with Andreas Bitzi, Co-CEO and board member.
