
Moldovan–Swiss Business Forum Held in Zurich to Boost Trade and Investment Cooperation
The Moldovan–Swiss Business Forum was held on March 12, 2026 at Baslerpark in Zurich, bringing together representatives of Swiss and Moldovan businesses to explore trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.
The event focused on strengthening economic cooperation within the framework of the EFTA–Moldova Free Trade Agreement, providing companies with insights into the Moldovan market and opportunities for expanding bilateral trade. Business leaders, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives gathered to discuss practical ways to deepen collaboration and build new partnerships.
Valentina Ceban, Honorary Consul of Moldova and Head, JCC Moldova Chapter moderated the event. Key speakers included Mr. Eugen Osmochescu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization of Moldova; Ivo Germann, Head, Foreign Economic Affairs, SECO; Irina Tolstuov, Deputy Director, Molodva Invest and Guido Beltrani, Director, Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova.
The forum featured a series of panel discussions dedicated to key sectors including agribusiness, construction and engineering, and electronics and precision industries. During these sessions, speakers highlighted Moldova’s export potential, investment climate, and the advantages available to companies seeking to enter or expand in the market.
Participants also took part in B2B networking sessions, which allowed Swiss and Moldovan companies to connect directly, exchange ideas, and explore potential business partnerships. The event concluded with a wine tasting featuring premium Moldovan producers, giving guests the opportunity to discover Moldova’s renowned wine sector while continuing informal discussions.
The forum was organized by the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Zurich, under the auspices of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the United Nations Office in Geneva and the Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South Caucasus (JCC).
Strategic partners supporting the event included the Investment Agency of the Republic of Moldova and the OPTIM Project (HELVETAS).
Overall, the forum provided a valuable platform for dialogue, networking, and the identification of concrete business opportunities, while also promoting Moldova as an attractive destination for Swiss trade and investment.
