JCC Sanctions Roundtable examines the 14th Sanctions Package

We also offer technical seminars to inform our member companies on legal and regulatory issues that impact their business in the region.

Most recently the 14th Sanctions Package has introduced a high degree of complexity in trade and investment processes, and it is important that JCC members understand the implications for their business. Learning more about the 14th sanctions package was the subject of the JCC Business Roundtable organised at MAN Energy Solutions, Zurich on September 3, 2024. The event was a continuation of the webinar organised in 2023 on sanctions, in light of the appearance of new sanction regulations.

The roundtable opened with a welcome from our host Mathias Scherer André, MAN Energy Solutions and Dorit Sallis, Managing Director, Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South Caucasus (JCC). The two experts, Laurence Ponty, JCC board member and Partner, Archipel and Andreas Bitzi, JCC board member and CEO, Business Solutions Partners gave a detailed analysis on sanctions and countersanctions: What is permitted and forbidden, especially, in light of the latest ban on services. Bank/payment and taxation issues as well as practical cases and implications were analysed. The participants asked questions and continued the discussion during the apero offered by MAN Energy Solutions.
