Armenia as a regional and global tech hub
Armenia has recently been investing in the local tech industry with the aim of developing it into the next tech hub. The tech ecosystem has hatched many new Armenian start-ups which have been further boosted by an influx of digital experts from neighboring countries. JCC with support from its Legal and Tax Chapter held a webinar on the Development of the Technology Industry in Armenia on June 2024, moderated by Marlena Harutyunyan, Senior Associate, Archipel.
Gagik Sargasyan, CEO, Polixis discussed the strengths of the Armenia as a place to build up an engineering and data team. The innovative nature of the Armenian ecosystem was showcased by Mariam Torosyan, CEO, Safe YOU which has developed a multi-stakeholder mobile application and platform that is designed to empower and protect women and girls from violence and raising awareness on gender-related issues.
Armenia is investing in the infrastructure to develop innovative technological products at Engineering City. CEO Aram Salatian presented this development which is an environment created for engineering companies in the high-tech sector with the purpose of facilitating and accelerating the development of complex engineering solutions. It is a platform where engineering, science, and education come together to tackle the advanced engineering challenges of the 21st century. Engineering City provides a full range of advanced equipment, research and prototyping labs, machine tooling and production facilities that are accessible to all the resident companies, allowing them not just to develop ideas but to manufacture and test them on-site.
