EBRD is bullish on Uzbekistan
At the latest JCC Uzbekistan Chapter Webinar on November 16, 2021, Alkis Drakinos, Head of EBRD Uzbekistan, showcased reforms and EBRD investments in a country undergoing big change. The webinar titled “EBRD in Uzbekistan: Assessment, Strategy and Investments” opened with a welcome statement from Thomas Anwander, Chair, JCC Uzbekistan Chapter and General Counsel, Rieter Management AG. This was followed by an economic update from Bunyod Rakhmatullaev, Economic Councillor, Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Germany.
Keynote speaker Alkis Drakinos offered a map of reforms and discussed areas of EBRD’s strategic focus: Improving competitiveness by enhancing the role of the private sector in the economy, promoting clean energy and resource solutions in all sectors and supporting enhanced regional and international cooperation and integration.
