SUMMARY:Resisting extortion the focus of JCC Legal & Tax Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Swiss companies’  international business activities are exposed to certain risks on the compliance and bribery front. The disruptions resulting from a region’s political instability are likely to increase institutional weaknesses and bribery exposure. Despite robust compliance programs addressing corruption, companies report that they continue to face undue solicitations, some of which can qualify as extortion. On February 20, 2025, JCC’s Legal and Tax Chapter organized a webinar on the topic “Resisting Extortion in International Business Activities“\nLaurence Ponty, Chair, JCC Legal & Tax Chapter; Partner, Archipel Law opened the webinar after a welcome from Dorit Sallis, Managing Director, JCC.  Faiza Alleg Dolivet, a lawyer at the Paris Bar and a certified mediator (CMAP, CEDR, and OECD Roster), analysed this problematic issue and explored some practical approaches, including in the Eurasia Region, to identify these risks and define appropriate measure to address them effectively\n \n
